LIFE BEFORE CADE.
Seems weird to even write that.....did we even have a life before Cade? Mike and I ask ourselves that all the time and we know we did and it was a lot of fun too but NOTHING compares to what our life is like now with our sweet little boy. I actually started this blog when we found out we were pregnant and seemed to forget it when Cade arrived. I would like to catch everyone up on what happened and tell the story of Cade's first year.

Here I am just a couple of weeks before Cade arrived. Seems like a lifetime ago.

On May 7th, 2007 I went into the hospital to be induced. The 7th was the actual due date and there was no sign he was going to show up anytime soon. Induction was started that night and pitocin was started the morning of May 8th. After two or so hours of labor (that was HORRIBLE) I told the nurse something was wrong. The old lady told me it was just labor.......lovely!! Well finally a young nice nurse listened to me and she checked me and then got an ultrasound machine to be sure. Cade was breech and the HORRIBLE pain was caused from him being squished and forced to kick my spine!! Sure wish I could have seen the other nurse then to tell her how I felt. My doctor came in, apologized for missing that Cade was breech (thanks a lot now) and told me we would have to do an immediate c-section. Fun. Thank goodness I did not have a lot of time to think about it...although everything turned out PERFECT!!!!
Here I am when I first checked into the hospital the night before Cade was born. (I will spare you the ones where I look like I am possessed during contractions!! hehe)

Here is Mike getting ready to go with me into surgery. He was so nervous. He was amazing during all of this. (Well during the contractions he, Lindsey and Ashley all hid on the couch out of my sight) Mike was so brave during the c-section.

After Cade was out the nurses asked Mike to come over and see Cade....THEN they gave Cade to HIM!!! Now I know Mike is the Dad but OMG he had never held a baby before!!! He did just perfect but he will tell you he was SO NERVOUS!!!

Everyone's first glimpse of Cade

And here are a few shots when I finally got to hold Cade. What a little angel he is.

My Grandmother Shirley known as GG to Cade. I love this picture.

Even today when I think of Cade and the first time I saw Cade my heart melts and my eyes fill with tears. That was the happiest moment of my life.

I remember being in the hospital room alone with Cade for the first time. I held him close and unwrapped his blanket and sat quietly counting all his fingers and all his toes. What a perfect little angel I was holding. I thank God everyday for giving Mike and I Cade. He is everything I prayed for.

I will continue to post flashback posts to share Cade with you.

We love you.
Robin

PS. Thought I would share a few pics from all my happy visitors that day.
